MG Record-Breakers from Abingdon Photo Archive
M.G. built its reputation as a top sports car manufacturer through racing victories and speed records. In the 1930s, founder Cecil Kimber led the growing company in Abingdon and understood the promotional value of record-breaking achievements. He supported the development of special high-speed cars. Driven by famous racers like Captain George Eyston, Major Goldie Gardner, Bobbie Kohlrausch, and Bert Denly, these cars set class records at venues such as Pendine Sands, Brooklands, France, and the highways of Belgium and Germany.
This book is the first to provide a detailed history of M.G.'s record-breaking cars. It includes International Class Record Summary charts for models EX 120, EX 127, EX 135, EX 179, and EX 181.
