IFA F8, F9, P70 - Serienmodelle seit 1948 (Schrader Typen Chronik)
Auto Union was one of the war losers, but the Zwickau plants Horch and Audi resumed car production around 1949. Initially, they built the pre-war DKW F 8 Meisterklasse, followed by the similar F 9 model.
The P 70, based on the old DKW with a new body including Duroplast panels, served as an interim model until the new East German small car reached full production. This car, the Trabant, became an iconic part of Eastern automotive history.
Frank Rönicke provides detailed portraits of all models, offering valuable information for DDR car enthusiasts.
