Lagonda 2, 3 & 3-1/2 Litre in Detail, 1925-35
Lagonda became well-known in the 1920s and 1930s for its stylish and high-performance sports cars. Its reputation started with the 2 Litre model, introduced in 1925, featuring an advanced hemi-head engine with twin camshafts. Produced in various versions until 1933, it included low-chassis and supercharged variants. In 1932, the 16/80 replaced it, using a Crossley six-cylinder engine.
A 3 Litre six-cylinder model was introduced in 1928, followed by the short-lived 3 ½ Litre in 1934-1935. Though heavy, these Lagondas delivered strong performance and durability at high speeds.
This book focuses entirely on these models, detailing their chassis, running gear, engines, transmissions, and specification changes. It explores their racing history at Brooklands and Le Mans and examines the company's development during that period.
For current owners, it offers practical advice on maintenance, common issues, and parts availability. It includes six specially photographed cars with 100 color images and over 140 archival black-and-white photos. This detailed study is a valuable resource for Lagonda owners and enthusiasts, celebrating the legacy of these remarkable vehicles.
