After the end of the MG Midget and MGB, the future of the MG brand seemed uncertain, with the badge used mainly on various Austins and Rovers. However, through the dedication of a few individuals and strong public support, the brand experienced a successful revival. This book tells the story of MG's transformation from decline to rebirth, symbolized by the phoenix, the inspiration for the MGF.
Written by renowned MG expert David Knowles, the book features thorough research, detailed specifications, and over 300 illustrations, mostly in full color. It is an essential resource for anyone interested in modern British sports cars.

After the MGB ended production and the Abingdon factory closed in 1980, it seemed the era of classic MG sports cars was over. While the RV8 appeared in the 1990s as an upgraded MGB, designers were also creating a new model, unveiled in 1995.
Developed under British Aerospace and launched by BMW's Rover Group, the MGF later came under MG Rover ownership after BMW split the company in 2000. The TF was introduced and produced until MG Rover went into administration in 2005.
The MGF revived the British two-seater MG sports car tradition. In this book, MGF enthusiast Tim Morris explores the car's development during major shifts in the British car industry. The book covers key design features such as the mid-engine layout and Hydragas suspension, details model updates, and compares the MGF to competitors like the Mazda MX-5. It also provides useful information for owners and buyers, along with numerous illustrations, making it an essential guide to the MGF and TF sports cars.
