Aston Martin - DB2, DB2/4 and DB3 in Detail, 1950-1959

Aston Martin's first post-war car, the 2-Litre Sports, was based on the pre-war Atom. However, it was the DB2 that truly defined the brand's future. This model combined Claude Hill's chassis with Lagonda's 2.6-litre twin-cam six-cylinder engine, designed by W.O. Bentley. Styled by Frank Feeley, the DB2 was the first in a long line of Aston Martin supercars.

This book begins with a history of Aston Martin leading up to David Brown's acquisition. It then provides a detailed analysis of the 2-Litre Sports (later called the DB1), covering its chassis, engine, transmission, and other key components.
The following chapters examine the DB2, DB2/4, DB2/4 Mark II and III, as well as the DB3 and DB3S sports racers, with insights into design changes, performance, racing history, and driving characteristics.

A dedicated chapter offers practical advice for owners and enthusiasts, including maintenance tips and common issues. The book features outstanding examples of each model, captured in 110 color photographs, alongside 140 archival black-and-white images and period marketing materials from Aston Martin.

Factory-Original Aston Martin DB 4/5/6 : The Originality Guide to All Models Including Db4 GT Zagato, 1958-1971

The first of this fast and elegant car family, the DB4, debuted in 1958 with 240 bhp and a top speed of 140mph. It quickly gained praise from both the press and public, though its high price kept it out of reach for most.

The DB4 range expanded with the 266 bhp Vantage version, the 302 bhp short-chassis DB4 GT (only 75 made), and a convertible. The DB4 GT Zagato, with 314 bhp, was the most powerful and rarest, with only 19 original units, followed by six more made after 1990.

In 1964, the DB5 replaced the DB4, available as a coupé or convertible with a 282 bhp engine or the 314 bhp Vantage version. The final model in the series, the DB6 (1965-70), featured better aerodynamics and 325 bhp in the Vantage form.

These cars remain as rare and exclusive as ever, and their high prices are driven by condition, history, and originality.
James Taylor provides full details of the original specifications and equipment for these models, with in-depth colour photographs of outstanding examples. Every feature, from body panels to the tool kit, is covered.

Aston Martin DB : 70 Years

Aston Martin's sports cars under David Brown's leadership achieved major success, winning the Le Mans 24-hour race and the World Sports Car Championship. They also became iconic through James Bond, particularly the DB5 in "Goldfinger", featuring the famous ejector seat.

Although the DB era ended with Brown's sale of the company in 1972, its legacy remains strong. The DB10 was specially designed for Bond, and the DB11 represents Aston Martin's most advanced model yet. The 'DB' initials continue to define the brand's identity.

This book celebrates 70 years of Aston Martin's legendary DB models, from Le Mans winners to James Bond's famous cars and today's supercars. Featuring over 250 rare and striking images from the Aston Martin Heritage Trust archive, it showcases the evolution of these iconic vehicles.

From the first DB1 to the legendary 1960s DB models and the cutting-edge DB11, this beautifully illustrated book is a tribute to one of the world's most celebrated sports car lineages.
