Beechcraft T-34 Mentor (Pilot's Flight Operation Instructions)

Designed in 1948 by Walter Beech, the T-34 Mentor was created as an affordable replacement for the T-6/NJ Texan. The aircraft shared many features with the Beechcraft Bonanza but had a two-seat cockpit with a bubble canopy and a conventional tail.

The original T-34 models used a piston engine. Fifteen years after production ended, the design was upgraded to the turbo-prop T-34C Turbo-Mentor, which remained in production until 1990.

The T-34 is considered one of the most reliable trainers of its type, with many still in service six decades after its introduction. Over 2.300 Mentors were built worldwide in various versions, including the T-34A for the Air Force and the T-34B for the U.S. Navy.

This book reproduces the complete original T-34A Mentor flight manual, first published in 1958, providing a detailed look at the operation and handling of this classic trainer aircraft.

US Army Twin Beeches

While most people associate the US Army with helicopters, it has operated numerous fixed-wing aircraft for decades. A key supplier of these aircraft has been Beech Aircraft of Wichita, Kansas.

From the Korean War to the present, the Army has used twin-engine Beech aircraft for a wide variety of missions. These aircraft were purchased off-the-shelf rather than specially developed, making them more economical to acquire and operate.

Beech aircraft have served almost every role imaginable: utility, VIP transport, light bombing, photo-reconnaissance, surveillance, and training. Some reconnaissance versions are notable for their large antenna arrays, giving them a distinctive, "spooky" appearance.

This book provides unclassified details, specifications, and photographs of these versatile aircraft, illustrating their design, performance, and operational use within the US Army.
