Breguet 1050 Alizé

The Breguet Alizé, a carrier-based aircraft designed for anti-submarine warfare, was developed from the Breguet Br 960 Vultur. The first prototype made its maiden flight in October 1956, but the first pre-production examples were not delivered until 1959 following a long modification period.

In France, the aircraft were used on the aircraft carriers Clémenceau, Foch and Arromanches and on land for training. They were engaged for numerous reconnaissance missions in Lebanon in the 1980s, in the Persian Gulf during Operation Salamandre, then in Kosovo in 1999 as part of NATO. The last aircraft was withdrawn from service in 2000 with the reform of the Foch.
This book tells the whole story.

Breguet 693 - Le 'Lion' de l'aviation d'assaut

The Breguet 693 had its baptism of fire in May 1940: eleven aircraft of the GBA 1/54 were engaged in the Maastricht region against the German columns. Unfortunately, the ground assault tactics used proved disastrous, making the aircraft particularly vulnerable and ten of them, decimated by Flak, did not return.

A twin-engine, two-seater bomber carrying a pilot and a gunner placed back to back, the Breguet 693 was also one of the first French aircraft to be equipped with radio.
Like many units, the assault groups were withdrawn to North Africa and due to the German occupation, the model did not see any further development.
