Sepecat Jaguar : Almost Extinct
The Jaguar was an iconic aircraft resulting from Anglo-French collaboration, one of the first designed for low-level strike and attack roles. Initially planned as a trainer, it evolved into a fighter-bomber, drawing from the TSR2 concept. The aircraft soon became supersonic, ready for reconnaissance and tactical nuclear strikes.
Retired prematurely, the Jaguar was withdrawn from service in France in 2005 and the RAF in 2007. Despite its early retirement, it remains admired by those who flew it and those who watched it in awe.
The end of the Jaguar in the UK was abrupt, with the aircraft exiting quietly rather than with a grand farewell. However, it continued to serve on other continents, playing a vital role in maintaining sovereignty for decades.
This book is a visual tribute to the final days of the Jaguar, capturing the aircraft's legacy through stunning photographs.
