Arado Flugzeugwerke : Aircraft and Development History

Founded in 1925 in Warnemünde, Arado-Flugzeugwerke produced civil aircraft from the beginning and also developed prototypes for the secret rearmament program of the Reichswehr.
From 1933, licensed production of military aircraft began, alongside several in-house designs. The best-known types include the Ar 66 and Ar 96 training aircraft, the Ar 196 catapult floatplane, and the record-setting Ar 79 sports aircraft.
With the twin- or four-engine Ar 234, Arado created the world's first operational jet bomber. At the end of the war, the company also started work on the first supersonic experimental aircraft.

This book traces the development of all Arado aircraft from 1925 to 1945 and examines the growth and capabilities of the factory. It also provides an overview of licensed production and other projects. Based on original documents, the book corrects several errors and myths previously published about Arado-Flugzeugwerke.
