In 1974, the CX was born under very dark auspices. On the verge of bankruptcy, Citroën had to resolve to come under the control of Peugeot. At the same time, the fallout from the first oil crisis did not favor the launch of a large road car. Until 1989, the CX played with panache the role of standard-bearer of the Citroën range, at the same time as it embodied a certain idea of the high-end "à la française".
Available in many versions, from the Diesel saloon to the luxurious Prestige, including the aggressive GTI and GTI Turbo, it quickly acquired a special place in the hearts of French motorists. More than forty years after its launch, it has become, like the Traction or the DS in their time, the darling child of new generations of collectors.
Richly illustrated, this book is dedicated to Citroën CX cars from 1974-1989.
Retraces in detail the history and evolution of the Citroën CX.
This volume of the "La voiture de mon père" collection is not only a source of in-depth information for the owner, but also a concise guide to originality.
The technology, variants, modifications and special versions are described in detail.
In fifteen years of career, the CX will succeed in the challenge of selling as well as the DS, and of presenting a serious and reliable image of the French high-end internationally. More than 30 years after its launch, a tribute is paid to it with this book.
Like all great Citroëns, the SM represents a superb technological and sporting achievement of the Citroën spirit. It is the work of an inspired, creative design office, to which the company had given astonishing freedom of expression.

An overview of the SM in miniatures, tables, nomenclatures and production figures complete the book.
