Cadillac, un faste particulier (Collection Prestige)
If there is an automobile name that has made generations of enthusiasts dream, while symbolizing American dynamism and modernity, it is Cadillac. The Cadillac Automobile Company was founded at the end of a meeting bringing together a determined group, originally from Detroit on a hot afternoon of August 22 1902.
Having become the elite division of the young General Motors from 1909, Cadillac then established itself as an entity that had to be reckoned with. Both with its main national competitors, Packard, Lincoln, Pierce-Arrow, Stutz, Peerless and Duesenberg, and with those no less formidable established in Europe such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Hispano-Suiza, Delage and Isotta Fraschini.
The division is part of a constant technical research, the models of the house offer for example, a world first, the electric start and lighting from 1912, or even at the disposal of the clientele a unique choice of V8, V12 or V16 mechanics, then devotes itself from 1967 to the technique of the front-wheel drive.
Today Cadillac displays a newfound dynamism, a reputation of know-how which now extends as far as China.
This work traces the rich and long history of Cadillac, American brand of prestige and still in activity.
