An event as significant for Alfa Romeo enthusiasts as the reopening of the marque's historic museum at Arese - held on 24 June 2015, the day on which Alfa celebrated its 105th anniversary - could hardly not be celebrated with a book. The official catalogue of the new museum represents an opportunity to review the history of the marque and above all to accompany the reader/visitor around the new exhibition layout in which the cars have been thematically grouped and subdivided.
The glorious racing cars (from the P2 to the 33 in all their variants, through to the less successful cars that competed in F1) are brought together under the section VELOCITA' introduced by Alfa Romeo driver Nino Vaccarella, while cars such as the 1759, 8C 2900, 6C 2500, 1900, Giulietta and Alfetta, along with the most recent production models, illustrate the most important episodes in the Biscione's industrial history in the TIMELINE section - introduced by American journalist Nick Czap.
The section BELLEZZA - introduced by designer Lorenzo Ramaciotti, head of Style for the Fiat Group for years - focuses on the undisputed protagonists being cars such as the 33 Stradale, the Carabo and the Nuvola, milestones in the evolution of automotive styling.
A specific chapter also features all those models that do not appear in the exhibition. The catalogue is therefore an indispensable instrument for all those visiting this authentic temple of history, technology and culture.

Alfa Romeo Arese - Die Produktion der Tipo-105-Modelle
In 1963, the first part of the new Alfa Romeo plant in Arese was put into operation. From then on, the bodies of the Tipo 105 sedan and coupé were produced there. The final assembly of the vehicles was also carried out in Arese. The production of the engines and other mechanical components was still at the old Portello plant at that time, and was only transferred to Arese in the following years after additional production areas had been completed. Fortunately, many of the production processes of the Tipo 105 models have been photographed over the years.
A book for every enthusiast who would like to see how the vehicle components and vehicles of the Tipo 105 were created, which are still largely responsible for the good reputation of the Alfa Romeo brand today. All of the photos in this book, most of which have never been published before and were taken in Portello and Arese, date from 1963 to 1972 and show exclusively the production of the Tipo 105 models.

This book is not just another of the usual books about Alfa Romeo. The author has explored the deepest corners of the Alfa archive, thoroughly researched previously neglected topics and written a fascinating and entertaining book that opens up an unusual perspective on Alfa Romeo. A truly special book about the Promethean spirit of Alfa's creators and designers of special (individual) models far removed from mass production.
Alfa expert and historian Stefano Salvetti was able to unearth real treasures in the car manufacturer's archive: pictures of custom-made models, special bodies and small series, gorgeous upé and convertible variants, one-offs such as Michelotti's "Goccia" and Pininfarina's Giulia TZ2 "Sport Speciale", design experiments, prototypes, station wagons, spiders, bicycle race support vehicles, state limousines and other curiosities such as various variants of Alfa commercial vehicles.
The totality of all special Alfas is too large to be presented in one book. But so that these special models and special features are not completely forgotten, the author has put together an interesting panorama of curiosities in this book that rightly bears the title "Alfa Romeo Special".
The book includes special models from the passenger car and commercial vehicle sectors and portrays numerous lesser-known bodywork companies that have created many of the models presented in the book. Conclusion: "Alfa Romeo Special" is a truly unique collection of Alfa special models and closes one of the last gaps in the large Alfa Romeo library. A feast for Alfisti!!

Giulia, GT, Alfetta, Giulietta, Alfa 75 - the bestsellers of the traditional Milanese brand Alfa Romeo all come from the legendary Stabilimento di Arese factory. At the time of its construction in the early 1960s, "La Fabbrica" was the most modern automobile production facility, and practically everything that was needed to build the sporty dream cars was manufactured on site.
In his latest work, Alfa expert Umberto Di Paolo presents the history, the factory parts from the forge to the paint shop, the organization, the cars and the protagonists - all uniquely richly illustrated with countless photos from a treasure trove of images that had yet to be dug out of the archives. This book closes one of the last gaps in the large Alfa Romeo library - a celebration for every Alfista and a monument to the legendary factory as well as to the Alfa creators in the design office and on the assembly line.
The book traces the entire history of Alfa Romeo by examining its most intriguing events, focusing on its most famous models as well as the individuals who shaped the destiny of the company, from top executives to lesser-known technicians. It features illustrations provided by the Alfa Romeo Documentation Center in Arese, along with specific images dedicated to iconic vehicles from the "Righini Collection."
Few brands embody attention to detail as Alfa Romeo does. Since its beginning, every element has been shaped with care, never by chance. The story starts with Nicola Romeo, who in 1918 took control of the "Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili- in Milan and renamed it Alfa Romeo, laying the foundation for a legend.
The company's history reflects both triumphs and setbacks. On the track, victories by drivers such as Tazio Nuvolari and Juan Manuel Fangio helped build Alfa's fame, while difficult years tested its endurance. Yet one constant has remained since the founding of A.L.F.A. in 1910: the pursuit of beauty in design, at once powerful and refined. This quality has inspired generations of devoted enthusiasts.
Alfa Romeo is a story deeply rooted in Italy's culture and engineering tradition. Author Francesco Domenighini tells this tale with both passion and expertise, guiding the reader through more than a century of innovation, competition, and style.
