Voitures audacieuses, enthousiasmes et déceptions de l'aventure automobile
Originality has always been one of the characteristics of the automobile, but not the rule. The need to innovate for technical or stylistic reasons has often resulted in different, endearing cars. They sometimes had the defects of their qualities: lack of reliability because of their sophistication, exorbitant price... Which gave birth to cars like the Tucker or Jensen Interceptor FF sometimes produced in a few dozen copies! Others immediately convinced the general public and were produced in millions of copies for decades! Bold cars are not the prerogative of certain brands or a given period, but throughout the history of the automobile, models have stood out, whatever their price, nationality or era.
This book is not intended to be an exhaustive catalog but a work telling their story, illustrated with numerous documents and accompanied by surprising anecdotes. It will appeal to both the informed amateur and the novice interested in automobiles.

Voitures audacieuses, enthousiasmes et déceptions de l'aventure automobile
As the little one mixes with the big story, we discover that the leading roles of the greatest actors, singers and other VIPs have often been played by their partner cars... Aren't Bullit's Ford Mustang, the Jaguar XK 120 or the psychedelic Rolls Phantom V inextricably linked to Steve McQueen, Françoise Sagan and John Lennon? Beyond the fiction of a diabolical Plymouth Fury, the heroine of Christine, the reality of the almost eternal life of certain cars far exceeds the wildest imagination.
A richly illustrated story, teeming with anecdotes and secrets that, without this book, would have remained forever buried in the most tightly closed drawers. Stories of love, passion, gentle madness or grandeur, between extraordinary people and cars.
In this book, Dennis Adler introduces us to over 50 American, English, German, Italian, French and Japanese convertibles through a collection of superb colour photographs, including full technical specifications and production figures, as well as historical facts and anecdotes about each model. He places particular emphasis on their innovations in styling, performance, interiors, engines, etc.
Dennis Adler takes us to the heart of the original style of the automobile in its purest form. Why original? Because, Adler explains, "in the beginning, there were only convertibles and cabriolets."

Personenwagen aus Osteuropa - Was nicht in die DDR importiert wurde (Typenkompass)
This book complements the two previously published Typenkompass volumes "DDR-Personenwagen" and "DDR-Personenwagen - Importe aus RGW-Staaten". Many types of cars produced in the other Eastern Bloc countries were not available in the GDR at all or only in the basic version.
This work describes all of these other cars, off-road vehicles and vans with a payload of up to one tonne that were mass-produced in the former Eastern Bloc countries of Bulgaria, Romania, the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Poland and Yugoslavia, so that all three volumes together provide a comprehensive overview of the variety of types in the Eastern European vehicle industry.
Each type is presented with a photo, a historical description and a technical sheet.

Personenwagen aus Osteuropa - Was nicht in die DDR importiert wurde
The first cars were horse-drawn carriages, but that was not all. In the century after the invention of the automobile, around 10 000 manufacturers worldwide built cars, some more successfully than others. This magnificent volume presents the most beautiful and most important ones. It spans the period from the pioneering years of the early days to the mass motorization of the 1970s: car dreams of yesterday and the day before yesterday, legends from Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, the USA and other nations such as Belgium, Japan and Spain. Sometimes beautiful, sometimes bizarre - a fact-rich overview with over 130 brand portraits and 400 images.
