Dassault / Dornier Alpha Jet: Flying with air forces around the world
Flugzeiten: Aus dem Leben und Werk meines Vaters, Claude Dornier
The airplane is one of the most spectacular and momentous inventions of mankind. The name of the aircraft designer Claude Dornier and the Dornier works are inseparably linked to it. In "Flugzeiten", Silvius Dornier looks at his father's work and influence, starting with the beginnings of airship construction at Graf Zeppelin. The author sheds light on the special spirit that shaped the company and its employees - but also on the prevailing, often tragic circumstances of the 20th century.
Silvius Julius Dornier, born in Friedrichshafen in 1927, is the eldest son of the aircraft designer Claude Dornier. Encouraged by his father, he developed a passionate interest in aviation technology at an early age. He played a number of key roles in the reconstruction of the Dornier factory.

Flugzeiten: Aus dem Leben und Werk meines Vaters, Claude Dornier
The Do 27 is one of the most successful German aircraft developments of the post-war period: a distinctive, robust and extremely versatile machine. Built by Dornier from 1956, it was the first aircraft to be mass-produced in Germany after the war. For decades, the aircraft, which was capable of short takeoff and landing, also flew with the German army. Prof. Bernhard Grzimek's Zebra Dornier, which he used in his nature films in Africa, became famous worldwide.
Fantastic images from private and military archives make the volume a real treat and pay homage to this classic.

The Do 31 is still unique in the world in terms of type and design. The machine ready for series production was the size of a medium-sized business jet and could carry five tons of payload or 36 fully equipped soldiers - which would have revolutionized the market for combat zone transporters. However, there were only a few prototypes, the development, construction and testing of which were extremely exciting, brought about groundbreaking design innovations and remain a milestone in aircraft development to this day.
Peter Kielhorn's book impresses with unique images and data about this aviation sensation.
