Pander D
This book presents the development and service history of the Pander D, a small Dutch single-seat sports aircraft derived from the 1923 Carley C.12.
After the bankruptcy of Vliegtuig Industrie Holland (VIH) in 1924, H. Pander took over the staff and assets and founded the Nederlandse Fabriek van Vliegtuigen H. Pander & Zonen. The company's first design was a modified Holland H.2, based on the Carley C.12.
The Pander D featured a streamlined fuselage, tapered wings and plywood covering. The cockpit was positioned between the wing spars. The first flight took place on 16 November 1924. Shortly afterwards the aircraft made its public debut at the Paris aviation show. A total of ten were built: six civilian and four military examples.
