How to Fly a Piper Cub

Built by Piper Aircraft between 1937 and 1947, the J-3 Cub is one of the most famous civil aircraft in history. Its simple design and low cost earned it the nickname "Model T of the Sky" and made flying accessible to many. Over 20.000 Cubs were built, including a large number used as trainers during World War II.

Originally published in 1945, when Piper production focused on military aircraft, the booklet "How to Fly a Piper Cub" anticipated the post-war aviation boom. Printed in color with detailed illustrations, specifications, and black-and-white photographs, it is a nostalgic record of a landmark aircraft that appeals to every Piper enthusiast.

Piper Cherokee - A Family History

After the Cessna 172, the Piper Cherokee is among the most popular aircraft for private pilots. In continuous production since 1960, the Cherokee family includes models with different engines for varying range and fuel efficiency. Four- and six-seat versions exist, with some featuring retractable landing gear and turbocharged engines.

This book covers the history and development of all Piper Cherokee models, including safety and ownership aspects, internal and external details, and special variants. These include STOL modifications, seaplane conversions, tailwheel versions, and new engine options.

The Piper PA-28, a direct competitor to the Cessna 172, was initially produced with a rectangular wing and fixed gear, with engines from 140 to 235 hp. Retractable gear created the Arrow series. Larger, high-performance PA-32 models include the Cherokee Six, Saratoga, and Six X, with retractable gear versions known as the Lance and Saratoga II series.

Over 32.000 Cherokees have been built for civilian and military use, making it one of the most successful light aircraft families in history.

Piper Cub, l'avion passion

Born from the creativity of a self-taught engineer during the 1929 Great Depression, the Piper Cub became successful in a world little focused on recreational light aviation.

This book traces the history of the people who designed, built, and flew it, particularly Clarence Gilbert Taylor and William Thomas Piper. From the original design to its derivatives, including its role during World War II, it provides a complete view of the aircraft and its variants.
Illustrated with numerous photographs and three-view plans, it also meets the needs of model builders.

André Bréand, aerospace technician, journalist, and Piper Cub pilot, presents with this detailed study the first historical work in French on the Cub, its predecessors, and derivatives.

Piper Cub

Few aircraft symbolize sport flying better than the Piper "Cub", first flown in 1937. Its simple but clever design laid the foundation for a successful aircraft family and numerous copies.

Over 40.000 units were built in different versions. The usually bright yellow "Cub", with its timeless design, is the most produced aircraft in its class worldwide.

The two authors present the history of this remarkable aircraft in a unique way, covering its development, variants, and influence on aviation.
