Tracteurs Renault D22 - 1955-1968
In the large Renault tractor family, whose family tree was presented in the Renault Tractor Encyclopedias, the D 22 family, namely the ET5 Range, is a key branch in the evolution of the Renault tractor. Its history begins in 1955 and ends in 1968.
During its fourteen years of exclusive reign at the Le Mans factory, this family was the subject of all the attention; the French market was particularly demanding and, curiously, it was the little brother D22 that was the dominant one.
It is therefore quite natural that a specific work is dedicated to this family, whose life corresponds to the glory years of the Renault Tractor, so much so that, in the 1970s, Renault had great difficulty convincing large farms that its know-how did not stop at small and medium-power tractors. The price of the glory of a dominant family.
This period will mark the abandonment of the gasoline engine, the arrival of air-cooled MWM engines, but also, and mainly at the end of the reign, the Tracto-Control which will be handed down as a legacy to all subsequent generations.
Appendices at the end of the Volume provide the possibility of:
- Finding a model by its commercial name.
- Knowing the number of tractors manufactured by month and by model.
- Knowing the months and year of manufacture of a tractor number.
