Société Française Vierzon (5e édition)
This book traces the history of the Société Française from its founding to its closure, linked to the development of agricultural mechanization and motorization. It shows how the company adapted its production to advances in energy sources, from the old family threshing machine to the powerful combine harvester, from horse-powered mechanisms to the Diesel engine, including the steam engine.
With over 500 photographs, drawings, sections, and diagrams, the book helps the reader identify the machines, understand their operation, and faithfully restore them. This album also pays tribute to the people who contributed to this industrial history.
SFV - Societe Française de Vierzon 1950-1963 - L'âge d'or : tracteurs à huile lourde et machines agricoles
In the early 1950s, the Société française de matériel agricole et industriel de Vierzon experienced its golden age. It was widely present in rural areas, especially with its threshing machines and the renowned "Vierzon" tractors. The company proudly emphasized that its products were entirely made in France.
However, with the rapid evolution of agricultural technology, the Société française faced financial and technical difficulties. It could no longer meet the new demands of the agricultural sector on its own. This situation led to a partnership with Case. Despite this alliance, the Société française gradually lost its historic brand image and eventually disappeared.
