Tracteurs agricoles Someca - 50 ans d'histoire en prospectus
Simca was founded in 1934, producing cars in France and importing Fiat and Steyr tractors until the 1960s. In 1953, Simca acquired the MAP company and created the Société de mécanique de la Seine (Someca) to manufacture the first Simca tractors and supply parts for the last MAP models. The first Someca model, the DA 50, delivered 37 hp at 1500 rpm. It was followed by the 40 and 55 models, then the 615 and 715. By 1960, more than 40.000 Someca tractors based on Fiat designs had been produced. Today, Someca is majority-owned by Fiat and part of the New Holland group. Someca tractors left a strong impression on generations of farmers. They were known for their reliable start and distinctive, powerful sound. Some loved them, while others criticized the noise level inside the cabin. One thing is certain: Someca made its mark. Even today, these orange tractors can still be seen on country roads. Discover their evolution through advertisements dating back to 1953 and take a journey into the history of Someca tractors.
