Fahr Traktoren 1938-1968 (Typenkompass)
Fahr became known for its mowers and reaper-binders. In the 1950s, the small tractor maker benefited from the strong market in West Germany and successfully launched tractors for small and medium-sized farms. When economic conditions worsened, Fahr merged with its competitor Deutz at the end of the 1960s to form Deutz-Fahr. Today, the manufacturer belongs to the Italian Same Group.
In this type guide, Ulf Kaack presents all major Fahr tractor models produced and sold between 1938 and 1968.

The wood gas tractor is still very well known to many fans of historical agricultural machinery. But who knows the lightweight construction that was developed due to a shortage of materials or the people's tractor that was to show large parts of agriculture the way to mechanization?
Using FAHR as an example, the author impressively shows how companies were massively influenced and restricted in the development and production of their products by state intervention in a planned economy and ultimately by the war. This study is supplemented by the beginnings of tractor production at FAHR from 1938 and with a wealth of previously unpublished illustrations.
