The book complements the picture of Polish engineering by presenting the little-known history of agricultural tractors and grain harvesters designed and produced in Poland between 1945 and 1989. In addition to descriptions of operating principles and components, it highlights the history of factories and their designers. Valuable additions include assessments and experiences of tractor and harvester operators.

The publication covers tractors produced by Ursus, as well as designs created outside the factory, such as the Dzik micro-tractor, and prototypes including the innovative EH4x4.
The section on harvesters focuses on machines built at the Harvesting Machinery Factory in Płock. To provide historical context, the author also refers to the pre-war period and the fate of manufacturers after 1989.

Cooperation with successors of the original producers made it possible to include valuable illustrations.
