Tracteurs agricoles Renault 1917-2003 - toute l'histoire
Louis Renault, a great industrial captain, was also a man of the land who was passionate about his immense Herqueville estate, covering some 700 hectares and comprising 7 farms. Passionate about progress, he probably wanted his land to be worked by tractors bearing his name.
Moreover, most of the models created were put to the test on his estate. Present in aviation as well as on railways, on battlefields as well as on national roads, on the water with its marine engines as well as in factories with its industrial models, Renault could not be absent from the fields.
Thus, the adventure of the agricultural tractor, begun in 1919, continued when the railway and aeronautical sectors stopped after the Second World War.
The growth of the "Renault agriculture" activity is such that, in 1996, it is the first brand on French soil, bringing many innovations, the renewal of the ranges, a successful design that is unanimously acclaimed.
In 2003, Renault agriculture becomes a 51% subsidiary of Claas. This is a turning point in the history of the brand which disappears completely in 2008. When the story of a man meets our History, it becomes essential to tell it in words and images: this was the author's wish through this beautiful work.
