Known as a competitor, supporter and driving force behind the rise of road racing in the United States, he not only created cars that carried his name into world-class competition but also fielded many other models in American and European events during the late 1950s and early 1960s. His personal collection ranged from ordinary vehicles to rare and impressive machines.
Author Richard Harman spent seven years researching this long-awaited tribute. With exceptional access to previously unpublished archives from the Cunningham family and former team members, he was able to document the history of most Cunningham-owned cars with remarkable precision.
Published in two volumes, the book received the 2014 Cugnot Award from the Society of Motoring Historians and was shortlisted for both the RAC Book of the Year Award 2014 and the 2013 International Historic Motoring Awards Publication of the Year.
