Camions Hotchkiss, l'héritage utilitaire
If the reputation of Hotchkiss automobiles remains in the minds of enthusiasts, that of Hotchkiss trucks is undoubtedly even more alive among a very wide public. This is quite normal; from 1946 to 1971, that is to say well after the brand with the crossed guns abandoned the passenger car, the trucks it produced continued to crisscross our roads.
In the hands of the coal miner or the market gardener, the entrepreneur or the firefighters, the Hotchkiss have never ceased to be particularly appreciated work tools. Over the seasons, they have become a lasting part of the national automotive landscape.
From the PL 20s of the immediate post-war period to their successors in the 1950s, to the last Hotchkisses to come out of the Saint-Denis factories, they have left a lasting mark on the minds of their users and, more generally, on the collective memory of their contemporaries. Actively collected today, their history deserved to be written.
