This tractor differed clearly from its competitors and was intended to secure Daimler a lasting position in the agricultural market.

In the 1990s, Unimog and MB-trac followed separate technical paths, while agriculture faced a crisis. As a result, Daimler ended production of the previously successful system tractor.
