Histoire mondiale des avions de ligne - depuis 1908
Airliners were truly born in the aftermath of the First World War, when many demilitarized aircraft suddenly became available. Since then, commercial aviation has continued to develop and accompany the expansion of world trade. In the space of eighty years, it has contributed to "shrinking the planet" by accelerating the movement of people and goods.
This book presents the technical evolution of airliners in the world, from the first biplanes in 1908 to the very large sophisticated carriers of tomorrow. With the help of more than 350 photographs and drawings, 100 technical sheets, 26 biographical notes and 26 thematic boxes, it brings back from the past some of the most extraordinary machines that the history of aviation has known.

Klassische Propliner - Ikonen der Passagierluftfahrt
Propellerflugzeuge - Verkehrsmaschinen seit 1945 (Typenkompass)
At the end of the Second World War, the development of piston engines had reached its absolute peak. Such engines powered powerful passenger planes that are still considered legendary today. The complicated and trouble-prone engines were eventually replaced by the newly emerging turboprop engine. Turboprop-powered aircraft now conquered the skies, such as the Vickers Viscount or the Lockheed Electra. To this day, propeller aircraft are one of the mainstays of civil aviation. This would simply be impossible without the "feeder" aircraft on short and medium-haul routes.
Each type is presented with a photo, a historical description and a technical sheet.
