Between 1940 and 1945, the Diamond T Motor Car Company delivered just over 50 000 vehicles to the American army and the Allies. In this production, just over 30 000 were 4-ton, 6x6 heavy trucks, which would have many versions: cargo, tow truck, pontoon carrier, engineering dump truck, cartographic box, etc.

The "Diamond" would be present in all theaters of operations, where its robustness and reliability would allow it to take on all tasks without weakening. Due to its expertise in heavy machinery, Diamond T would also be used for the production of the famous Half-track, with more than 10 000 units.
All of these models are described in this book by a great specialist on the subject, using archives and hundreds of period photos.

La empresa Diamond T Motor Car Company fabricó automóviles hasta 1911, cuando el primer camión, comprado por un cliente satisfecho de automóviles, llevó a la producción exclusiva de camiones y pronto alcanzó un estatus legendario como líder en estilo.
Mientras ''El camión más hermoso de América'' se convirtió en un eslogan duradero, Diamond T también enfatizó su liderazgo en ingeniería. Constructores de más de 1500 camiones Clase B Liberty en la Primera Guerra Mundial, Diamond T produjo casi 50.000 tractores de remolque, semiorugas, grúas militares, tractores de tanque y transportadores de tanques en la Segunda Guerra Mundial.

A fines de la década de 1940 fueron años de máxima producción, pero a medida que avanzaba la década de 1950, Diamond T encontró problemático mantener su estatus independiente. La compañía White Motor compró Diamond T en 1958; trasladando la producción de Chicago a las instalaciones de fabricación de Reo en Lansing, Michigan, en 1960, creando la División Lansing para producir los camiones Diamond T y Reo.
