Lancia Delta - Un fabuleux palmarès

Presentado en 1979, el Lancia Delta nació como un compacto familiar, sin aspiraciones inmediatas en los rallies mundiales. Ese papel lo desempeñaron primero el Stratos y, a comienzos de los años ochenta, el 037. Cuando la competencia adoptó la tracción total (Audi Quattro, Peugeot 205 T16), Lancia reaccionó con un prototipo Delta 4x4 a finales de 1982 y después con el Delta S4 del grupo B. En su primera participación, a finales de 1985, el S4 ganó el Rally RAC.

En 1986, el Delta S4 dominó la temporada hasta el accidente mortal de Toivonen en el Tour de Corse, que marcó el final del grupo B. Lancia respondió con rapidez y en 1987 presentó el Delta HF 4WD, basado en un modelo de serie. Ganó el Campeonato del Mundo de Rallyes en su primera temporada, iniciando una larga etapa de éxitos. Lancia Delta Gruppo A (Volume 1)

The Lancia Delta Group A is one of the most successful racing cars of all time. A legend that has collected 46 victories in World Rally races and won six Constructors 'titles consecutively, plus four Drivers' titles with Biasion and Kankkunen.
