Diepe sporen - Grondverzet in de jaren vijftig, zestig en zeventig
Arie Pieters, who lives in 's-Gravendeel, is active in his daily life as a photographer, copywriter in the field of advertising & promotion, and freelance correspondent for a regional newspaper, among other things. In 2017, he published the booklet 'Everyone loves Jimmy'. In it, he described the role that the legendary GMC CCKW played during the reconstruction of the Netherlands after the Second World War. Many GMCs remained in service for decades after that, primarily as civilian dump trucks.
In 'Diepe sporen', the GMC also plays an important role, as do the REO, Henschel, Tatra, and other dump trucks. In addition, the dragline is naturally featured, as earthmoving without a dragline was unthinkable in the years between 1950 and 1980.
