Les tracteurs Champion et les moteurs Cérès
At the end of the 19th century, Joseph de Bucy chose to set up a workshop in the town of Bar sur Aube. He founded the company Moteur Cérés and began manufacturing engines designed to be used in fixed positions. These engines quickly found use on various agricultural machines.
The brand's diesels built an enviable reputation and were used to re-engine agricultural tractors, mainly gasoline models from the Marshall Plan.
Given the success encountered, the company decided in 1952 to manufacture its own agricultural tractors. The Tracteur Champion company thus created will produce some 5000 units until its disappearance in 1960.
The Cérés house, after having refocused on the production of generator sets, will cease its activity in 1992.
It is this saga of almost a century that is told to you in this book.
