Magirus-Busse bei Bahn und Post
Magirus was a well-known brand for buses that played a significant role in Germany starting in 1919. Its vehicles, featuring the Ulm Minster emblem on the front, were widely used by Reichspost and Reichsbahn, and later by Bundespost and Bundesbahn. From 1956, the Mainz factory produced yellow and red intercity buses, mainly operated in western and southern Germany.
Until the factory's closure in late 1982, Magirus delivered hundreds of the robust, air-cooled "German Bulls" to rail and postal services. Some private rail companies also preferred these buses.
The book provides a richly illustrated overview of the types, uses, and special features of Magirus buses, including the standard intercity bus model introduced in 1971/72.
