Die NSU-Story - Alle Autos und Motorräder aus Neckarsulm

NEW

NSU entered the 20th century with a motorized bicycle and developed into one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers before the Second World War.
With models such as Quickly, Fox and Max, NSU achieved the status of number 1 worldwide in 1955. NSU also set groundbreaking impulses in the field of cars, starting with the small cars of the Prinz type through to the legendary Wankel, the Ro 80.

This magnificent volume brings together all the cars and motorcycles produced in Neckarsulm between 1900 and 1977. The presentation is complete and includes all the relevant data, facts and tables, written by an insider. An atmospheric homage to an important German brand.

NSU Typenkunde

As with many other companies, NSU's path to becoming an automobile manufacturer was virtually pre-programmed: in 1873 it all began with a mechanical workshop and the manufacture of knitting machines in Riedlingen on the Danube, in 1886 the first bicycles followed - already in Neckarsulm - and then motorcycles in 1900.
The small company expanded and took the final step in 1905. Licensed production of the Belgian Pipe automobiles 18/28 HP and 35/50 HP was started and just one year later the first in-house design, the NSU 5/10 HP, was on display at the Berlin Motor Show.

Despite numerous pre-war models, the NSU image is still shaped by the "economic miracle" models such as the Prinz or NSU/Wankel Spider. The little Spider is a milestone in automotive history: it is the first to have a rotary engine in its rear.
Despite all the teething issues, NSU courageously sticks to the principle developed by Felix Wankel and follows it with the Ro80, which continues to fascinate with its progressive design to this day.

This type guide explains with great attention to detail all NSU car models ever built:
- from the 6/10 HP to the Sport-Prinz and TTS to the K70
- technical data and production figures
- clear tables
- contemporary photo and advertising material
