DAF F 95 en 95 XF - New Truck Generation

In August 1987, DAF expanded its heavy-duty truck lineup with a new model: the DAF 95. A robust addition to the DAF fleet, the new 95 marked the beginning of a series initially referred to as the New Truck Generation. DAF took a comprehensive approach, introducing a diverse range of trucks with the new F 249 cabin under the name "Concept 95." In 1988, the 95 series earned DAF the prestigious Truck of the Year title. Over 67,000 chassis of the DAF 95 were produced.

At the Brussels Motor Show in 1997, the 95XF was introduced as the successor to the DAF 95. The "XF" designation stood for eXtra Forte, representing more than just an update to the 95 series. Approximately 80% of the truck underwent a complete redesign. A decade after winning its first Truck of the Year title, DAF received the honor again in 1998 for the 95XF, with almost 79,000 chassis produced.

This book narrates the development of the 95 and 95XF series, which marked a significant success for DAF. It showcases the various configurations within both ranges. As of the book's writing in 2020, the F 249 cabin, in a substantially modified form, continues to be in production.

DAF torpedofront-trucks - Dertig jaar stoere neuzen 1957-1986: Torpedo, N 2500 en N 2800

In 1957, DAF introduced a new series of trucks with a torpedo front, initially without a cabin and from 1958 onwards, with a factory cabin. The American-style torpedoes with their panoramic windshields were popular, especially among private carriers.

In 1973, after a brief flirtation with International, DAF launched the N2500 torpedo-front series, based on the IH Paystar, which did not gain much traction.

However, the N2800 torpedoes from 1980 proved to be a great success, robust trucks that performed well, particularly in Africa and the Middle East.

After Jan de Rooy won the Paris-Dakar rally in 1982 with 'De Neus' (The Nose), the N2800 became a sought-after heavy truck in the Netherlands. This book narrates the history of thirty years of robust DAF front designs. Approximately 8000 units of the original torpedoes were produced, only 8 of the N 2500, and about 800 of the N 2800 series. In addition to technical data, the book includes approximately 300 illustrations, half of which are in color.

DAF 2600 - Klassieker van de weg

The introduction of the DAF 2600 at the RAI exhibition in 1962 was a sensation, particularly garnering praise for its cabin design. What is now considered commonplace, such as power steering, cabin heating, and windshield wipers, received special attention at that time. The truck found favor with transportation companies and especially with drivers.

Production of the 2600 continued until 1974, with approximately 15,000 trucks and tractors rolling off the assembly line. Currently, around 60 DAF 2600s are preserved or have their registration still present at the RDW (Dutch Vehicle Authority).

This book provides a comprehensive overview of all produced variants and is a revised edition of the original book with an additional 16 pages. It includes many new photos, a significant portion in color, showcasing the 2600s in action and during testing, along with technical information and descriptions. Osiemnasta książka z serii DAF opisuje pierwsze ciężarówki tej marki - modele 7- i 6-paskowe. Zdjęcia przedstawiają transport w latach pięćdziesiątych, odbudowę powojenną, proste życie, ciężką pracę i ówczesny krajobraz uliczny.
Wybór modeli 7- i 6-paskowych jest celowy, ponieważ oba miały kratę chłodnicy z chromowanymi listwami oraz przednią szybę z centralnym słupkiem i były produkowane przez DAF w latach pięćdziesiątych.

DAF kantelcabines - Eerste generatie en Club van 4

At the RAI-1970 exhibition, DAF unveiled a completely new series of commercial vehicles with a tilting cabin, followed by the Club van 4 series in 1975. However, due to DAF's launch of the heavy F 2800 series in 1974, succeeding the renowned 2600 series, the first generation tilting cabins and the Club van 4 have always been somewhat underrepresented in publicity. This is entirely unjustified, as there were thousands of satisfied users. These trucks served as workhorses in distribution, and hundreds were supplied as garbage trucks and fire engines.

The standout models were the 6x6 types and the 4-axle configurations. Remarkably, they remained in production for a very long time, with the last types rolling off the assembly line in 1992.

This book provides an overview of all versions of the First Generation and the Club van 4, featuring around 300 color photos and several dozen unique black-and-white images.

NOWOŚĆ

W 1957 roku Van Doorne's Automobielfabriek DAF N.V. wprowadziła ciężką serię 2000 DO. Pojazdy te otrzymały poszerzoną wersję istniejącej kabiny z segmentu średniego.
W 1962 roku pojawiła się seria 2600 z kabiną zaprojektowaną specjalnie do transportu ciężkiego i międzynarodowego.
W 1973 roku serię 2600 zastąpiła seria F 2800. Zastosowano w niej poszerzoną wersję kabiny uchylnej F 218 z ciężarówek średniej klasy.
W 1987 roku DAF zaprezentował drugą kabinę, w pełni opracowaną z myślą o transporcie ciężkim i międzynarodowym. kabiną F 249 trafiła do serii F 95 i była produkowana przez ponad 30 lat.
W 2021 roku DAF wprowadził całkowicie nową, modułową kabinę, dostępną w kilku wersjach dla nowej generacji pojazdów: średniej klasy XD oraz ciężkich XF, XG i XG+. Książka daje jasny i bogaty obraz wszystkich tych modeli DAF.
