Cross-Country Lorries : German Manufacturers (Camera On)

Durante il primo programma della Germania di Weimar per la motorizzazione della Reichswehr a partire dal 1926, fu richiesta la progettazione di autocarri fuoristrada a tre assi con una capacità di carico di 3 tonnellate (oltre a veicoli di altre specifiche).
Tre aziende furono coinvolte nello sviluppo di questi autocarri: Bussing, Henschel e Krupp. Il primo modello Henschel - il tipo Henschel 33 B 1 - fu consegnato nel 1928.

Questo album fotografico, riccamente illustrato, include oltre 150 immagini mai viste prima di questi veicoli in azione, molte delle quali provenienti da fonti private in Germania.

The 'Einheits-Diesel' - WW2 German Trucks (Camera On)

Questo foto-album della serie "Camera On" contiene oltre 100 fotografie del Leichter Geländegängiger Lastkraftwagen "Einheitsdiesel" (Autocarro Diesel Standard).
Lo sviluppo dell'autocarro standard per l'esercito tedesco iniziò nel 1934.

Era previsto sviluppare veicoli con 2, 3 e 4 assi con portate di 1.5, 2.5 e 4 tonnellate, ma alla fine entrò in produzione in serie solo il modello con tre assi e portata di 2.5 tonnellate.
La produzione in serie iniziò nel 1937 e terminò nel 1940, con oltre 14.300 veicoli costruiti da nove principali produttori di veicoli. Gli autocarri "Einheits-Diesel" furono resi identici da tutti e nove i produttori: Bussing-NAG, Daimler-Benz, FAUN, VOMAG, Henschel, Krupp, Magirus, MAN e Borgward.

"Camera On" è una serie di libri sull'equipaggiamento e le operazioni della Wehrmacht tedesca nella Seconda Guerra Mondiale. L'attenzione è rivolta ai veicoli a ruote, non corazzati, spesso ignorati o trascurati dall'esercito tedesco. Wartime Woodburners : Alternative Fuel Vehicles in World War II

In this age of concern with continuing availability of oil, scientists are working on a number of approaches to alternate fuel sources. These concerns may provoke interest in how some people in gas-starved Europe dealt with such problems throughout the war years, 1939-1945.

One of the most successful innovations, were the so-called "gas producer" vehicles that utilized the by-products of solid fuel combustion, employing such solids as coal, charcoal, turf, and wood to produce fuel gas for a standard internal combustion engine.

Deutsche Militärlastwagen - Bis 1945
