Schlumpf - De affaire achter mooiste autocollectie ter wereld

In Frankrijk hebben de broers Schlumpf in de jaren vijftig en zestig een imperium in de textielindustrie opgebouwd. In de florerende jaren hebben zij een prachtige collectie auto's verzameld. Toen de textielindustrie in Europa het moeilijk kreeg en wegtrok naar Azië werd het ook voor het imperium van de gebroeders Schlumpf moeilijk met een dubieus faillissement tot gevolg.

De Franse overheid verhinderde de verkoop van een deel van de collectie om de arbeiders door te betalen. De gebroeders Schlumpf werden gezien als kapitalistische egoïsten die over de ruggen van de arbeiders een werkelijk prachtige collectie auto's hadden verzameld.
Uiteindelijk werd de collectie voor een belachelijk laag bedrag verkocht aan l'Association pour le Musée National de l'Automobile de Mulhouse die de collectie nu nog beheert. Een collectie die nooit verkocht had mogen worden.

Dit boek vertelt het werkelijke verhaal achter deze mooiste autocollectie ter wereld. Van de ene intrige naar de andere intrige tegen Schlumpf met als hoogtepunt de verkoop van de collectie.
