Chrysler 300: 'America's Most Powerful Car'

En 1951, Chrysler a produit son tout premier moteur V8 - et quel moteur c'était ! Techniquement avancé et doté de chambres de combustion hémisphériques, le nouveau moteur "Hemi-Head" produisait beaucoup plus de puissance par rapport à sa cylindrée que n'importe lequel de ses concurrents ne pouvait le faire.

En 1955, la nouvelle Chrysler C-300 a été lancée. Le nouveau modèle combinait puissance (300 chevaux), style (par Virgil Exner) et maniabilité exceptionnelle pour ce qui était une grande voiture.
Lors de sa première année de production, la nouvelle C-300 remporterait les deux principales séries américaines de courses de stock cars : NASCAR et AAA. C'est ainsi qu'a commencé la légende et pendant chacun des dix années suivantes, un nouveau modèle 300, identifié par une lettre différente de l'alphabet, apparaîtrait.
