Lambretta 125 A-B - History, models and documents / Storia modelli e documenti
NEW
In October 1947, the Lambretta was born, revolutionizing personal mobility for millions of scooter riders worldwide. This Italian creation from Milan quickly became known as the most sporty, elegant, modern, and refined scooter on the international market.
The first model was designed in Rome in 1944 at Ferdinando Innocenti's workshop, originally called "Experiment Type 0." After three years of research, testing, and road trials, the Lambretta made its official debut at the Paris Motorcycle Show in October 1947, marking its entry into the European scooter scene.
The first Lambretta was named the 125 m (motorscooter) and was produced from October 1947 to October 1948, with 9.669 units made.
In response to demand for a more comfortable model, Innocenti introduced the 125 B in November 1949. With improved suspension, larger wheels, and handlebar-mounted gear control, the 125 B achieved great commercial success, leading to a production rate more than three times that of the 125 m, which was then renamed 125 A.
This book documents all versions of these early Lambrettas, including technical details, advertisements, and cultural insights. It is authored by Vittorio Tessera, Italy's leading expert on Innocenti and Lambretta.
