IWL - Roller aus Ludwigsfelde 1955-1964 (Schrader Typen Chronik)
The Industriewerke Ludwigsfelde, founded in 1951, initially built ship engines and machine elements. On February 1 1955, the first scooter rolled off the production line. Pitty, Wiesel and Berlin were then produced.
Troll was the name of the last IWL scooter, which, like all other GDR motorcycles, had an MZ engine specially modified for scooter operation. After that, scooter production was stopped by decision of the State Council and switched to trucks.
The texts and brochures for all scooter types and models give an authentic picture of scooter production in the GDR.
