Illustrated books on the history, types and technology of trams in Germany (1/3).
Unterwegs mit Bimmel, Rumpel und Elektrischer - Deutschlands Strassenbahnen der 50er, 60er und 70er Jahre
Post-war Germany during the economic miracle was simply unimaginable without the tram. It was as much a part of the cityscape as advertising columns or traffic police, and was also a status symbol for a city and reliably transported people everywhere. Nevertheless, it was precisely during this period that many trams were discontinued.
This illustrated book by Peter Waller offers unique, previously unpublished images from a British image archive that archives and digitizes the photographic legacies of many friends of rail transport and thus preserves them for posterity.

Unterwegs mit Bimmel, Rumpel und Elektrischer - Deutschlands Strassenbahnen der 50er, 60er und 70er Jahre
Mit Zicke, Silberpfeil und Sambazug - Deutsch-Deutsche Strassenbahngeschichte
It was once as much a part of the cityscape as advertising columns, newspaper boys or traffic police - the tram squeaked and rang its bell through the streets, annoyed the beer cart drivers and passers-by and yet was indispensable for everyone. Whether to school, church or work: the tram went there, slowly but reliably and often.
Today the tram is disappearing more and more from the cityscape, modern light rail systems or even subways have overtaken it - but in this color picture book by Jürgen Krantz it lives once again, the magic of the tram.

Fotoalbum der Maschinenfabrik Esslingen: Straßenbahnen und Seilbahnen
In this volume about the Maschinenfabrik Esslingen, Alexander Weber focuses on the trams that the Esslingen machine factory produced between 1868 and 1966. The range of images extends from the Stuttgart-Berg horse-drawn tram to the most successful product of the Esslingen tram construction, the GT4 railcar. The second focus is on the funicular railways, which the manufacturer was also able to sell successfully abroad. An excellent illustrated book with many previously unpublished photographs and at the same time a profound reference work.
