McLaren from the Inside
Fifty years after its founding, McLaren remains a key team in Formula One and one of the most respected names in motorsport. Tyler Alexander was there from the start. Joining McLaren as a mechanic in 1964, he played a crucial role in building the team's first cars, which quickly achieved success in Formula One and dominated the Can-Am series. During this time, he also captured the team's journey through hundreds of photographs taken at the track and in the McLaren workshop.
"McLaren From The Inside" brings together Alexander's best images from two different periods. Part I features black-and-white photographs from the 1960s, showing Bruce McLaren and his team developing, testing, and racing their cars. It also includes notable drivers like Jim Clark, Dan Gurney, and Jackie Stewart, along with key figures such as John Cooper, Carroll Shelby, and Colin Chapman.
Part II moves to the modern era, capturing McLaren's high-tech Formula One environment in the early 21st century. The book highlights top drivers, including Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, and Kimi Räikkönen, as well as the designers, engineers, and mechanics who continue to drive McLaren's success today.
