The book covers the entire production of the Fiat 500 Giardiniera from 1960 to 1977, also embracing the history of the 500 Giardiniera under the Autobianchi brand. The documentary research was in-depth and is based on reliable sources, so as to be able to report all the information necessary to carry out a correct restoration.

Given the scarce bibliography on the 500 Giardiniera, the volume aims to be a reference point for all those looking for information or wanting to restore their Giardiniera according to the original specifications. All the color-interior combinations, all the main changes and the different series are shown.

Fiat 500 - The feedom car / L'utilitaria della libertà

This book is, first of all, a useful guide for all those who intend to get to know and restore the 500. Often when dealing with restoration we rely on "hearsay", or on information not supported by adequate material, which almost always inevitably leads to mistakes.

Here we have tried to enclose all the information to face a philologically and historically correct restoration. We talk about colors, combinations, suppliers and individual components. All the information is based on irrefutable paper documents, spare parts catalogs, workshop manuals and overall finishing of the Fiat itself, the result of a meticulous and long research, made for pure passion of the 500.
In addition there is a chapter with some advice on buying the car and how to deal with it.

Fiat 500 (Bewegte Zeiten)

Cute, round shape, charming face and big, round eyes - when the Fiat 500 saw the light of day in July 1957, many hearts melted. The tiny car from Turin, which initially only managed 85 km/h with just 13 hp, became one of the most popular car models of all time and achieved a similar cult status to the VW Beetle and the Citroën 2CV.

To this day, the Fiat 500 is highly sought-after as a classic car. In the 60s and 70s, it mastered the balancing act between being an affordable means of transport - it was available for around 3000 DM - and the embodiment of a lifestyle. And that despite spartan equipment and little space for luggage. Inside, however, the small family car was surprisingly spacious and as soon as the folding fabric roof was folded up over the rear hood in a few easy steps, the Fiat 500 even had a convertible feel.

  • The lovingly designed illustrated book "Bewegte Zeiten - Fiat 500" traces the phenomenon of the sweet little car.
  • Carefully researched texts provide exciting background information on the creation and model history of the popular four-wheeler and illuminate the entire production period from 1957 to 1975.
  • Fantastic photo series with the best car photos show the mini Fiat in its time.

Fiat 500

The Fiat 500 is, perhaps, the car that marked an epoch more than any other. Five million examples were built between the time the car was introduced back in 1957 and 1975, when Turin decided to end its production.
This book tells the story of the extraordinary little Fiat, analysing its industrial, technical and commercial aspects. Production numbers, detailed technical specifications, chassis numbers, cut-away illustrations of its mechanics and body, period pictures in colour and black and white bring the 500 back to life model by model, providing a useful support for the car's correct restoration.
