Heinkel - Roller, Moped und Kabine
This book presents a detailed account of the development of the legendary Heinkel brand in post-war Germany. Starting with the first prototype scooter from 1951 and continuing through to the eight models of the Heinkel Tourist, the book traces the history of this vehicle, known as "Mercedes unter den deutschen Nachkriegsrollern".
Original meeting minutes and numerous photographs illustrate the development. A comprehensive chapter is dedicated to the famous Heinkel moped, including background information and production photos.
The history of the Heinkel cabin is described in detail, from the first drawings through various development stages to series production, emphasizing that it is an independent design by Prof. Ernst Heinkel.
The book also sheds light on the 1960s project for the 150 cc two-stroke scooter, which Heinkel saw as an attempt to attract new customer groups. A separate chapter is dedicated to prototypes and previously unknown developments at Heinkel.
Supplemented by over 270 pictures and comprehensive technical data of all vehicles, this book, with its accompanying DVD of original films from the 1960s, becomes a classic for enthusiasts.
