Launched in 1955 yet looking like a sci-fi design proposal for a future then undreamed of, Flaminio Bertoni's ellipsoid sculpture with wheels that was the Citroën DS stunned the world. When the DS was presented in 1955 on the Citroën stand at the Motor Show, its very bold design for the time was enough to scare people: a tapered nose, a "carp tail" exhaust pipe, a futuristic dashboard...
