Dieses Buch widmet sich den Lastwagen und Bussen Osteuropas, wobei sich die Eingrenzung auf den Wirtschaftsraum des ehemaligen Ostblocks mit den Staaten des RGW (Bulgarien, CSSR, DDR, Polen, Rumänien, Sowjetunion und Ungarn) sowie Jugoslawien bezieht.
Durch persönliche Eindrücke bei zahlreichen Besuchen in osteuropäischen Herstellerwerken, auf Messen und Ausstellungen sowie bei Gesprächen mit Mitarbeitern der Unternehmen gelangte Michael Dünnebier an Informationen aus erster Hand.

Der Schwerpunkt der Betrachtungen liegt auf der Firmen- und Typenhistorie, besonders während der planwirtschaftlichen Periode. Dargestellt werden aber auch die weitere Geschichte der Unternehmen und der Übergang in die Marktwirtschaft bis in die Gegenwart.

Dit is de eerste Poolse publicatie over commerciële voertuigen geproduceerd in de Comecon-landen, het Oostblok, van de naoorlogse periode tot 1990.

De auteur legt de structuur van Comecon uit en definieert commerciële voertuigen. Hij presenteert de fabrikanten, hun productieprofiel en geselecteerde modellen van bestelwagens, vrachtwagens en bussen, inclusief ontwerp, gebruik en technische gegevens.

De voertuigen zijn per land gerangschikt: Bulgarije, Tsjechoslowakije, Joegoslavië, de Duitse Democratische Republiek, Polen, Roemenië, Hongarije en de Sovjet-Unie. Elke fabrikant en zijn voertuigen worden voorafgegaan door korte hoofdstukken over de ontwikkeling van de auto-industrie in dat land.

This publication describes the various Polish manufacturers of passengers cars, vans, trucks and buses. The chapters contain information about their history and achievements in the period from the end of World War II to the fall of the communist system in 1989.
The descriptions of the factories are preceded by introductory chapters containing information about the beginnings of the Polish car industry and its situation in the socialist People's Poland. Manufacturers of specialized and special bodies are also mentioned.

After the political transformation of the state and the introduction of the free market, the factories in question did not cope with external competition. Various organizations, including foreign ones, took them over or they simply collapsed.
However, it is worth remembering the achievements of those factories that were grouped in ZPMot and bearing the Polmo logo. They formed a large socialist automotive concern - which was then an important branch of the Polish industry.

The book includes, among others, descriptions of vehicle factories in Lublin, Starachowice, Bielsko-Biała, Warsaw, Poznań, Jelcz, Sanok, Mielec and Nysa.

A richly illustrated book about the vehicles produced in the Lublin car factory from 1951 to 2014. Both mass-produced and prototype vehicles are described, giving details of their creation, development history and basic technical data of the produced cars.
License purchase plans are also discussed and cooperation with other manufacturers on the joint construction of delivery vans is presented. There are many archival, hitherto unpublished photos.
