Although the Kaelble factory in Backnang closed 20 years ago, the Kaelble legend lives on. For over 100 years, Kaelble produced machines and vehicles with the highest standards of Swabian engineering. Even today, Kaelble wheel loaders are still in use in some quarries and gravel pits, satisfying their owners.
Kaelble manufactured a wide range of vehicles and machines, with a strong focus on construction equipment. In the 1930s, the company proudly called itself the "largest construction machinery factory in Germany, " which was no exaggeration.
Documenting the complete history of Kaelble construction machinery in words and pictures was a significant challenge, leading to its division into three volumes.
The first volume covers the company's history in brief, auto-crushers, road rollers, and bulldozers. With many unpublished factory photos and archive images, it offers a fascinating insight into the first 50 years of Swabian construction machinery history. Technical data and facts are also thoroughly presented.
