La Peugeot 402-202 de mon père
The 402 range, presented at the 1935 Paris Motor Show, combines modernism and balance. The grille, in the shape of an elongated heart housing the headlights, remains an essential characteristic of the car, as does the tapered rear end, bordered by sloping wings and equipped with skirts hiding the wheels. In addition, the Sochaux berlinetta innovates with its monocoque architecture and its 'bloctube' chassis. More than 78, 000 examples will be produced before the model is abandoned in 1941.
The 202 range, unveiled in 1938, takes up the innovative general lines of its big sister the 402. The Peugeot 202 favorably accompanies the painful rebirth, in the post-war period, of the lion brand, a saving mission that will end in July 1949.
This book covers the entire history of the Peugeot 402-202. Numerous period documents, unpublished photos and technical characteristics of the different models.
