Giugiaro
Born in 1938 in Garessio, in the province of Turin, Giorgetto Giugiaro honed his professional talent at Bertone, then at Ghia before setting up his own business by creating Giugiaro Italdesign in 1968. He has left his mark on the history of automobile design in Italy, but also internationally, since he is known throughout the world.
Giugiaro is one of the most prestigious names in the history of automotive design, synonymous with cars such as the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT and Alfetta, Volkswagen Golf, Audi 80, Fiat Panda, Uno and Punto, Lancia Delta, Thema and Prisma, Maserati Bora, Ghibli and Merak, to mention just a few of the most famous.
The work of Giorgetto Giugiaro has profoundly influenced the vision of several automotive eras. The head of Italdesign has written the history of design with concept cars, prototypes and many series-produced models. In this book, the Turin master presents and comments on the most important models of his creation, starting with the Ferraris of the 1960s - still under the Bertone era - up to the new Brera by Alfa Romeo, which is all the rage as a series model. The palette is completed by the work of Fabrizio Giugiaro, who is already following in his father's footsteps with a number of remarkable studies.
The artist photographer, Peter Vann, internationally renowned for his photographic expression, has accompanied the professional life of the two Giugiaros. His visual interpretation of the forty vehicles presented in this superbly illustrated album gives an undeniable nobility to the automobile class.
