Die Grossen Opel - Kapitän, Admiral, Diplomat, Monza, Senator
The Opel Kapitän and Admiral models of 1938 marked the beginning of a long series of successful Opel models with six-cylinder in-line engines. In 1964, Opel expanded the duo to include the Diplomat to form the KAD A-Trio, thus reaching for the luxury class - and thus also challenging Mercedes-Benz.
At the end of the 1970s, Opel was succeeded in the top class by the Senator and Monza series, which were built until the early 1990s.
In this volume, Frank Storz tells the story of the Great Opel, from the Opel 6 of 1934 to the Big Three - Kapitän, Admiral and Diplomat - up to the Senator and Monza series.

Opel Kapitän, Admiral, Diplomat A & B - Die großen Drei aus Rüsselsheim: Entwicklung, Geschichte, Technik
In the period from the immediate post-war period until the 1970s, Opel had impressively established its position in the market for comfortable sedans and was in direct competition with Daimler-Benz. The Kapitän, Admiral and later the Diplomat models offered quality-conscious buyers ample comfort, reliability and American-inspired design at an affordable price.
This book is dedicated to the last A and B series of these model families, which undoubtedly represented Opel's concept for luxury cars in an outstanding way.
In expert text and first-class images, Frank Thomas Dietz recounts the history and development of these saloons, which marked the end of an era in the model range of the Opel plant in Rüsselsheim.
