MG T Series in Detail - TA-TF 1935-1954

The T Series MGs, beginning with the 1936 TA, define the classic British sports car.
This book begins by exploring the joys of driving T Series MGs, followed by an overview of the development that led to the TA's introduction and the influence of the Nuffield Organisation. It then provides a thorough technical breakdown of the TA, covering the chassis, engine, transmission, and running gear.

Subsequent chapters focus on the rare TB, the TC which revived the brand in 1945, the successful TD with around 30.000 units produced, and the final TF models. Each model is detailed, including key differences, production changes, and performance.
The author, former editor of MG Car Club's Safety Fast! magazine, also discusses the T Series' competition from the 1930s to the 1950s, comparing them to rivals like BSA and the Triumph TR.

For current and potential owners, the book includes a section on practical matters such as parts availability, maintenance, and preservation.
With 80 colour photos and more than 140 black-and-white images, including archival photos and MG promotional material, this book is a comprehensive guide to the T Series.

The MG T-Series - The Sports Cars the World Loved First

The MG T-Series was not the first sports car from Morris Garages (MG), but it stood out with its distinctive radiator, flowing fenders, and strong performance. These cars had an ash-wood frame covered in steel, mounted on a chassis with leaf-spring suspension.

This book explores the development of the MG T-Series, including the pre-war Midgets and the MG TC, TD, and TF. It details technical advancements such as synchromesh gearing, hydraulic brakes, and improved engines.

After World War II, the MG T-Series gained popularity in the United States when American GIs brought them home from Britain. The cars were soon adapted for the US market and attracted celebrity owners like Clark Gable.
The book also discusses competition within the BMC group, as models like the Triumph TR2 and Austin-Healey 100 emerged. Despite this, the MG T-Series remained in a class of its own.

MG Midgets In Detail - M-Type to TF (1929-1955)

NUOVO

The first MG Midget was introduced at the 1928 London Motor Show. Few expected it to become the model that would secure the future of the young MG brand, which, like many others, faced serious challenges during the economic depression following the 1929 Wall Street Crash.
MG had previously focused on higher-priced cars for wealthy buyers, such as the 18/80, also displayed at the show. However, the smaller and more affordable M-type Midget attracted strong interest from the start, soon outselling MG's larger models.

The Midget series went on to dominate the sports car market in the 1930s. After the Second World War, MG continued to produce these cars in large numbers, with many being exported, particularly from the Abingdon factory.

This illustrated book presents each MG Midget model in detail. It includes technical specifications, competition history, and information on special-bodied versions. The text is supported by both period and modern photographs, offering a clear overview of the development and legacy of these classic British sports cars.
