Lola GT - The DNA of the Ford Gt40

This book tells the story of Lola Cars Ltd and its groundbreaking Lola GT Mk 6 of 1963, the car that inspired Ford to create the iconic GT40.
Founded in 1959 by Eric Broadley in Bromley, UK, Lola Cars was designed to build, sell, and race cars. The company's first racing sports car, the "Broadley Special, " a 750 cc Ford-powered Austin 7, was built in 1956 by Eric and his cousin Graham.

In response to new FIA regulations in 1962, Eric designed the Lola GT Mk 6 to meet the requirements. The prototype, shown at the BRSCC Racing Car Show in January 1963, was minimal and incomplete, but it quickly became the star of the event despite being two days late and taking 52 hours to prepare.

Only three Lola GT Mk 6 cars were built, but their impact on racing history, particularly on the Ford GT40, is immense. The GT Mk 6 was a revolutionary rear-engine GT racing car with advanced technology and remarkable speed.
